This research report comes days after the Detroit market was sampled out as a potential destination in the United States. The paper seeks to analyze the Detroit labor force and answer if Detroit would be the ideal market for King Company. Detroit is found to comprise of a large proportion of an aging population and a population that lacks the required skills and passion and hence the paper advises that King focuses on making its debut in the American market in California. Alongside the age of the population, the availability of skills that are needed for any technology job is a matter of debate in Michigan’s Detroit. According to Bahr, 2015, to perform excellently at a task in the technology industry, one at least requires a college degree. In Detroit, only 13% of the youthful population seeking jobs has a college degree, 30% of the youth of Detroit does not possess a High school diploma and for those who graduate, a staggering 40% is not well prepared to enter the job market (Bahr, 2015). For the reason, while technology jobs are on the rise in Detroit especially with massive recent investment by auto industries, the region lacks the necessary skills that are demanded in the technology industry.
