Social Justice Education Summary
The teacher seeks advice from Mr. Burns who have taught Samantha and he advices the teacher to pay a visit to Samantha home. When she goes there she gets to see that Samantha takes care of her younger siblings while their parents go out searching for cash. She cooks dinner, helps the children in their homework and takes them to playing ground and hence she has no time to do her homework. By seeing this, the teacher clearly understands that most people are carried away by the myth that the poor have little concern on their children’s education and do not want to know why such conditions occur at the first place. Step three is taking to consideration on challenges posed and the opportunities present.
