Through exploring various topics in the course, I familiarized myself with four concepts utilized when writing a compelling article as well as the manner in which these varying styles of effective essay writing influence the general thing and tone of the essay when utilized appropriately. These concepts include; mediated value essay concept, rhetorical analysis, summary and synthesis with writer's memo essay and eventually the concept of podcast episode with transcript and statement of goals and choices. The mediated values essay is one of the concepts that I learned to write at the end of the coursework. When writing a good mediated values essay, I understood that it was necessary for the summary to tell a story, inclusive of key components, adopt the right tone for the topic, provide adequate evidence as well as be inclusive of a discussion of risk.

On the key components, I would provide a short description of a case and the legal issues revolving around it. Such risks may include; the steps taken in the event the motion is granted or denied as well as the strength of the case that if the evidence is denied. Writing a summary and synthesis essay with a writer' memo is another concept that I wrote extensively during the cause. When wringing such kind of an essay, I learned that the opening sentence should synthesize the conversation around the essay's theme. Secondly, include summaries of two texts with a clear explanation of the texts and also the author's arguments from the theme of the course that one has chosen to write about.

When it comes to writing a summary and synthesis essay, it is important for the writer to understand that they have three audiences they have to address through this essay. When writing a rhetorical analysis discussion, it demands the writer to view greater details of the topic and use effective and persuasive methods to prove his standing point. In a rhetorical analysis essay, it is important to understand that there is no room for argument as the basic priority in this type of writing is to analyze. Moreover, a new point should not be introduced in the conclusion of the essay. Like a persuasive essay, a rhetorical analysis has the main point. However, supporting the main point becomes the challenge for students as facts alone are not enough for an analysis essay.

During the course, I encountered difficulties when it came to episode writing, but by reading and reviewing several episode essays, I was able to sharpen my skills in both the language and other tools useful for writing an effective episode. In conclusion, essay writing is a continuous process which requires the writer to learn new concepts as well as improving on the already acquired writing skills. Assessing my essay writing skills by the end of the course, I found out that I had gained some new skills and also explored new concepts of writing essays. However, the ability to gather relevant information and also determine the right referencing style remains a key factor in essay writing. After exploring the numerous topics in the course, I acquainted myself with four concepts useful when writing an effective essay as well as the manner in which these varying styles of effective essay writing influence the general thing and tone of the essay when utilized appropriately.
