Characters in Othello Essay
At this time, the blacks were oppressed and racism was seeming as in the text, at its peak. The story in this play revolves around his life and love life that turns into a big mess, despite foreseeing it but trying to work things out. This play, written in the 17th century, presents themes that continue to serve an important role in literature over the years, and which serve teaching purposes even today. Othello and Lago, both work in the military. Othello is in a superior position that Lago but this yet does not create a reason for conflict between the two. Therefore he is honest and trustworthy as he gives power to those who are qualified. Lag, however, does not uphold that honesty but plans to spoil the marriage for Lago.
