However, this paper shall only offer a theoretical approach to the subject using already published works on the same (Rouse, 2018). The term cloud in the field of technology is used to refer to the internet in most cases if not all. Therefore, whenever someone mentions Cloud Computing they simply refer to sharing information, software, and services through virtual space, which is the internet. Cloud computing enables small businesses to enjoy compute resources as a service without having to establish and service in-house computing infrastructures. The internal users of the private clouds are in most cases not allowed free access to these clouds, although they at times may be required to pay up.

A good example is the OpenStack Public Clouds, on the other hand, allow a non-member service provider to deliver the cloud utilities through the internet. The model is normally sold according to demand. The demands fluctuate by the minute or after every hour, although longer lasting commitments may be provided for a range of services. In this model, the consumers are only billed for the Central Processing Unit cycles, the storage as well as the bandwidth they use. IaaS is a model that gives a third-party utility provides the ability to host servers and many other virtual compute resources, making them available to consumers online (Benefits, 2018). Methodology In order to fully understand the opportunities for the exploitation of cloud computing and the challenges facing the implementation of the phenomena, a combination of resources was considered and robust reading ensued.

A wide range of internet resources like articles, publications and websites were taken into the keen analysis to get to terms with the opportunities for the implementation of cloud computing. The purpose of all this was to get a clear picture as to where the niches lay for the total exploitation of the benefits of cloud computing as well as the possible barriers for effective exploitations of these niches (Billhorn, 2015). Discussion Opportunities for Cloud computing for small businesses At the inception of the idea, cloud computing was considered a reserve of large enterprises. Lastly, using cloud technology also proves to be cost effective and affordable to small and medium enterprises. Unlike the older systems of operation, cloud technology eliminates costs such as the costs of purchasing costly equipment or systems, maintenance of the systems and the upgrade of the IT systems, consultation fees, Energy costs among many other costs.

Moreover, cloud technologies are efficient and they reduce delays as any issues related to the services are attended quickly (Ma, 2018). Challenges facing Cloud computing Most businesses are taking to this new technology to ensure that their businesses are running efficiently and at affordable costs. However, the benefits of using cloud technology can barely be realized when one is oblivious of the challenges facing the application of cloud computing to the business world (Parker, 2018). Cloud technology has stamped its presence and it is steadily becoming the in thing for most enterprises. Despite the glary challenges that cloud computing faces in its application, its popularity grows by the minute thanks to the efficiency of the services that cloud computing offers (Tanwar, 2018).
