The main reference is to Genesis 30:1-3 where it states, “give me children or you will die”. This is the fundamental law that the Gilead republic emphasizes on. Additionally, the Bible emphasizes humility and meekness and the Tale describes related behavior to the Handmaids. This dictates that Gilead permits this creepy status. In Gilead, the Bible is used to derive absolute laws for the republic. Jacob is forced to work for another seven years in exchange for Rachel. However, Leah redeems herself in the most potent way for an Iron female and bears our sons. Rachel is much loved but remains barren. Margret is very masterful in the way she builds up the whole story. The story illustrates how the USA women are denied their reproductive rights and freedom that they have no control over the rights the fought so hard for.

In the conquest tales, virgins are counted as war booty and God commander gives strict instructions on how to purify a virgin war before getting to know her. (King, 2017) King reviews the tale and illustrates how many Biblical morals, themes, and laws impose the Gileadean community. However, these Gileadean religious ideologies are based on literally selected Biblical passages. This assortment of precise routes in the Bible aid in controlling and manipulating the subjugated women.
