Ad analysis

The choice of words, colors, context and imagery are vital for any advert to reach its target audience. In that case, advertising should aim at maximizing customer awareness because in any business, the customer is always the king. Technological and cultural aspects of the advert must be taken into consideration. To illustrate this, I have used the American crew advert. American crew advertises a man’s grooming products through the Deconstruction Gallery Magazine. It also implies giving sexual pleasure after using the product. Consequently, the bold font used is derived from male brashness because a male figure has to be seen wherever he goes and do wild things. The ad seeks to provide solutions for young generation going through a rebellious phase which is usually emotionally charged, while seeking acceptance and validation.The superficial nature of the present society is belittled.
