NEGATIVE IMPACT OF LAND FILLS Introduction The recent global times have experienced a huge growth in human population. Activities carried by human population explain the huge amount of wastes. Wastes generated have a negative impact to the environment. It is therefore imperative that management and control of waste is increasingly becoming a major concern in the global world. This is because wastes affect our environment which is a life support for biodiversity. Waste disposal is one of the biggest problem that the world is facing today (Emelda 2011). Landfills are some of the ways which many countries in the world employ to dispose their wastes. A landfill is an engineered in-ground facility that is used to secure safe disposal of wastes (Environment Protection Authority 2016). Landfills are associated with a number of pollution stream. Where waste is not properly manages and controlled there arises health and environmental risks (Emelda Sardinia Italy.
