Developmental Theorists Essay

The development process in human beings is gradual and can take place through different ways depending on the exposure to certain factors. Development occurs when people acquire more and more knowledge during their lifespan through ways such as life experiences as well as learning. Education and learning play a significant role in developing the thinking level and mindset of people in the society. Through learning and education, individuals are able to acquire knowledge and skills that they apply to the normal life events to address daily issues. As people gain more knowledge and skills through learning and life experiences they get better in the way they address many issues which bring about developments. She maintains that the existing learning approach assumes that students should accept whatever is given to them by their teachers just like how baby birds feed by swallowing whatever is given by their mothers, (Lave et al, 74-122).
