The Great Gatsby Film Analysis
Carraway narrates his encounter with Jay Gatsby at the roaring twenties height on long island. The message in this film is that the American dream is illusory which make men do immoral and extraordinary things like Gatsby obscene wealth and reinvention, however much they race after the green light, it is constantly out of touch. Jay finds Daisy though their reunion is short-lived as he is killed by George Wilson. The film utilizes the various artistic and rhetorical tools which helps in making the film impressive and interesting to the viewer. The setting of the film brings its viewers to the roaring twenties. Another very important aspect that adds to the film effectiveness is the first person narration used in the film, for example, we are shown Nick writing the tale by hand, when he is typing and when amassing his final completed manuscript in which he gives the name Gatsby.
