The failure of this dynasty brought political confusion, creating a political vacuum. The political vacuum led to the creation of the Qin dynasty through an effective and brutal ruler Shi Huangdi. The ruler ensured full consolidation of his power, building of the great Chinese wall, organized a consensus and ensured extension of the realm borders to northern Vietnam and Hong Kong. This, however, did not go for quite long before he died, and massive revolts occurred. The death of Emperor Shi Huangdi led to the creation of the Han Dynasty. Similarly, the Greek civilization pioneered western literature through the great Greek epics of the Odyssey and Iliad periods. There is close connection between ancient Greek mythology and western civilization. The massive influence of western civilization could as well be seen in sports the Olympics which originated from the Greek civilization at Olympia.
