Article Review - Library & Information Science discipline

Please locate a scholarly article to review from the past three years (2014-present) in a professional journal such as College & Research Libraries, Journal of Academic Librarianship, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, Library and Information Science Research, Library Quarterly, Library Resources & Technical Services, Medical Reference Services Quarterly, portal: Libraries and the Academy, Reference & User Services Quarterly, The Reference Librarian, Reference Services Review, RQ, or Research Strategies. Please do not use American Libraries, Library Journal, regional publications such as Colorado Libraries, or any other journal that does not feature scholarship. The article should be at least 10 pages long and should relate to some issue addressed in Cassell and Hiremath's chapters concerning "Encyclopedias," "Ready Reference Sources," "Biographical Information Sources," or "Dictionaries." It should show evidence that research/scholarship has been conducted in its preparation (look for footnotes, graphs, charts, statistics). The article should not be a review--there is little value in reviewing a piece that is itself a review! Please read the article and write two substantial paragraphs about it--and don't forget to cite the article at the beginning in APA format. (That means I want to see a stand-alone citation of the article in APA format at the top of the first page, before your first paragraph.) The first paragraph should be a summary that identifies the research question(s) or practical issue(s) at the heart of the article and explains how the article serves to illuminate the topic or topics of discussion. The second paragraph should comprise an evaluation. (Do not combine summary and evaluation--keep them separate.) Was the article well-researched? Did it make valid and useful points? If so, what were they? What questions about the topic were left unanswered? How might the article have been improved? Finally, is this an article that others should be sure to read? As you write your evaluation, please consider the points noted in the attached document, Eight Steps in Analyzing & Assessing Research (AnalyzingResearch.doc). Reading textbook: Cassell, K. A. & Hiremath, U. (2013). Reference and information services: An introduction (3rd ed.). Chicago, IL: Neal Schuman You should upload your assignment as a Word document attachment. Rubric for Article Review #4 Criteria Ratings Pts - Proper APA citation view longer description: 0.25 pts - Article was published within the past 3 years: 2.0 pts - Quality of summary and evaluation: 2.75 pts Total Points: 5.0
