In many circumstances, for instance, misusing an organization’s information systems for instance by posting unjustified, irrelevant and inappropriate information on social media have led to prosecutions and business loss. Cybercrime is the biggest ethical issue affecting information systems in the world today. The increased accessibility of the internet as a result of the emergence of technologically advanced mobile phones is a major contributor to the prevalence of these fraudulent activities. Cybercrime occurs in many ways, for instance, through identity theft where someone impersonates another and uses their identity to commit fraud and other criminal offenses through phishing for instance (ACORN, 2019). Other forms of cybercrime include the use of computer viruses to control computer programs of the target systems, especially in cloud computing.
Many organizations are therefore investing in new models of security integrated measures which aim at improved protection of users, data and other valuable assets. Internet communication costs are nevertheless steadily declining because of the reducing costs of the global internet and the availability of cheaper desk transmission costs, which is available for corporate Information Technology Infrastructure and which can be easily integrated into mobile and desktop systems that are affordable, powerful and found everywhere. Many organizations are likely to incur a lot of costs in ensuring that crucial clients’ data remains confidential, and further preserve the credibility of these organizations. When an organization addresses cloud computing issues through a holistic approach, the relevant stakeholders may be able to maximize the use of the cloud while protecting important data and seeing the success of the given institution.
