Galaxy note 7 had inherited the components of the hardware and improvements in Samsung S7. Such improvements included that it had a restored storage that was expendable and it was water resistant. To add on that, the Galaxy Note 7 had highly advanced mobile engines for processing both picture and motion images, which make sure the standard of the images is in the next level. The engines are also responsible for standard level of brightness as well as clear detail that makes images on the screen appear life and real. The screen of the device is locked with just a tilt of the device. The main setting actions of the phone are managed by just swiping down of the Quick Panel. The different modes of the cameras are easily accessible by just swiping.

This was the issue that led to overheating of the battery and eventually this led to the problem of the whole phone catching fire. This showed that there was negligence in designing the battery. It was a total embarrassment to the manufactures since they had established their name in the market and branded themselves as firm which produces strong devices. They lost the reputation of their clients and to avoid public anger, they decided to take the device out of the market as they worked on solving the problems. In their response, Samsung defended their brand saying that the mistake was done by the company contracted to design them the battery. After the release of the first bunch of Samsung galaxy note 7, the company indicated that they outsourced the battery from their partner company, which was supposed to be customized to march the specifications of the device. It was however not the case. The team is going to advice the company and helps them correct the problem before going to the market again.

Although the company argues the percentage of the mistakes to be very minimal, the consequences thereafter are huge and costly. The company has a task ahead of proving to the world that they are trustable brand and winning their reputation in the market again. When everything is solved, the company is expected to enter the market again this year with a new device, probably Galaxy S8. Six sigma is a statistics- based and disciplined method of eliminating defects in a service, process, product or good as well as improving the methodology which is driven by data (Antony, Jiju, and Ricardo 2002). Thus, one can conclude that the Galaxy Note 7 had not satisfied the quality standards expected by the customers. The defects translate that the company never adhered to manufacturing procedures well as well as lack of strict adherence to quality control activities and procedures.
