Advantages of Internal Recruitment It is both cheaper as it cuts down on the cost of recruitment through advertising and quicker to recruit someone to fill the vacancy in the organization (Black, 2017). The people being recruited are already familiar with hoe the business operates which cuts on the time it takes to adopt in the new position. Thirdly it improves the morale of the other members of staff, fourthly, it reinforces and supports the succession planning and enhances performance of the internal staff because of the reward on one of them (Williams, 2017). Disadvantages of Internal Recruitment First it runs the risk of in breeding from the employees, secondly, it can easily reinforce the already existing negative culture, and thirdly, it can encourage political infighting because of wrangles among the internal staff for promotions.
