Module 4 Case Assignment: Article Critique Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Introduction The impact that social ostracism holds on people of different age groups significantly resembles face-to-face rejection. Past studies have focused on evaluating the impact of online ostracism on adolescent and adults that play Cyberball. Cyberball is a computer game in which a virtual ball is passed from one player to the other on a screen (Abrams Weick Thomas Colbe & Franklin 2011). A study recently conducted by Dominic Abrams and other four scholars generated new knowledge on the impact of social ostracism in children whose age is as low as 8 years. The title of the research article is On-line ostracism affects children differently from adolescents and adults. The article was written in the year 2011. The aim of the report below is to present a review of the article. The paper focuses on the clarity and justification bias and the fact the research used one-time measures. In the future it would be important to conduct the research using a diverse population and using other extensive measures to bring out detailed information on the connection between human development from childhood and the ostracism effect different ways of ameliorating ostracism effects and causes of the differences in ostracism across different age groups.
