Based on the most recent data, the rate of cervical cancer incidences is at 8. 1 cases out of every 100,000 women in U. S. A. The rate of mortality is 2. Women who are younger than the age of 30 years are advised to screen for cervical cancer and undergo testing for Human papilloma virus, either in combined with cytology or alone. For those who are younger than the age of 21 years, the Task Force recommends that they do not undergo the screening for this type of cancer. Those who are older than the age of 65 years and have had sufficient and regular number of screenings prior to getting to this age are advised not to undergo the screening. Finally, the women who have a history of undergoing hysterectomy are advised against undergoing screening for cervical cancer.
