In-House Recreation Therapy Assessment Tool (Name) (Course) (Institution) Assessment Instrument Assignment Introduction Assessment instruments are crucial components in the provision of effective recreational therapy as they led to improved quality of life for people living with disabilities through leisure participation and goal setting. Therefore in this paper I will focus on building a hypothetical in-house assessment tool that can be used by the recreational therapists for assessment of leisure interest within a given population. This assessment will include general background information such as the address of the client date of birth the emergency contacts and past or current medications. In addition this assessment will seek to evaluate deeper the mental health information of the client such as family involvement current areas of concern and substance abuse information. Therefore this assessment tool will generally seek to investigate the potential leisure interest that will serve as a guide in the goal client. This assessment will point the importance of therapies or leisure such as adventure therapy animal-assisted therapy and music among others that are of advantage to the client. Through this assessment the client and the therapist are able to form a relationship. Therefore this assessment will help both parties to further their insights on the importance of therapeutic leisure activities which is the true goal of a recreational therapy.
