In what seemed like an ordinary night, lit by a full moon, Rosemary went to check on the vital signs of a patient who had overdosed on heroin. To her surprise, she found the patient having sex with her boyfriend in the room. It was already past visiting hours, but the shock of seeing such action happening on hospital grounds left her surprised and shocked in equal measure. Rosemary did not immediately report the incident to her superiors. However, Rosemary ordered the boyfriend to leave the hospital since it was already past visitor hours rather than for behaving inappropriately. The management has got it wrong when it comes to effective planning and running of the daily process in the hospital. One thing that makes it even more serious is the fact that they did not consider the welfare of the nursing staff and the patient who are the principal stakeholders of the facility.

Management has generally posted a record of poor performance as far as coordination and improvement of the hospital is concerned. There are several steps the management takes to be perfect in the facility one of which is the protection of the healthcare personnel in the hospital. From the case study, we get to realize that there are safe places where the nurses can seek refuge in extreme cases like in the case of Rosemary. The medical staff gets themselves in high-risk conditions that to an extent they imagine, thus, end up leaving them with undesirable results. In case Rosemary got injured in the process of escaping danger, the hospital would be liable to take care of her medical bills and other compensation. In healthcare, the management staff has a duty of protecting the employees of the hospital in any kind of danger before and after their occurrence (Nelson, 2015). This is an ethical obligation (Friedman et al. Optimum Physical Space for Patients and the Cost of Ignoring Safety Measures The optimum physical space is the space that is enough to take care of the accommodation of the medical staffs, the visiting relatives and the patients themselves.
