The glands of endocrine produce hormones directly into the blood circulation; they have great importance in the body such as growth reproduction and repairing of body organs. The endocrine system has seven major main glands. Also it contains lesser organs includes adipose tissues kidneys and gut. The function of pituitary gland which is located in the brain how it helps in maintaining the homeostasis in the body. Pituitary gland which is often nicknamed as the “master gland” produces several hormones such as growth hormone (GH) gonadotropic hormone (LH and FSH) prolactin antidiuretic hormone and oxytocin. These hormones usually control other parts of endocrine system. Pituitary is divided into two; the carboxypeptidase which is produced by the exocrine pancreas and is responsible in removing amino acids from C- terminal end. The second unit is the aminopeptide which is produced by the enterocytes; its function is on the N-terminal end. Synthesis site zymogens Active enzyme Stomach pepsinogen Pepsin Pancreas Chymotrypsigonen Chymotrypsin Pancreas Trypsinogen Trypsin Pancreas Procarboxypetidase A and B Carboxypeptidase A and B Pancreas Proelastase Elastase Pancreas Prolipase Lipase These enzymes are usually produced in their inactive form called zymogens. Zymogens are stored inside membrane- bounded granules called zymogen granules inside the cell. Zymogens are released by exocytosis when the cell is triggered by some specific signals which make the granules membrane to fuse with the plasma. Proteases are usually synthesized in active form because they can digest themselves before they are secreted.
