Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to address how and when the Roman Empire collapsed. "The Decline and Fall of Roman Empire" by Edward Gibbon dating 476 C. E, is the day that the King of Germanic deposed Romulus Augustulus who was the last Roman emperor to rule the western portion of the Empire. Whereas, modern Istanbul hosted the capital of the Byzantine Empire which had become the eastern half of the Roman Empire. The Rome city continued to be in existence whereby some believed Christian as the cause of ending the Roman while other with the differing opinion thought of the increase Islam as the purpose thus resulting the fall of Rome in 145 at Constantinople. The realm was again plunged in 395 following the abduction of Diocletian something that resulted in a permanent division whereby civil officials dominated the East together with the eunuch and the west was taken over by the military (White, 2007).
