S. G Procedural History The local board (Henry County Board of Education) expelled a student by the name S. G from a county high school after engaging in a fight on the school grounds, which was a desecration of the student handbook. The State Education Board affirmed the ruling of the Local Board. However, the superior court reversed the ruling after finding out that S. G was expelled and the Local Board affirmed this decision. Unsatisfied with the ruling, S. G made a petition to the State Education Board, which avowed the judgement that was made by the Local Board. She went ahead to file a petition to the Superior Court which after considering the oral argument, evidentiary record, and the briefs that the parties submitted reversed the decision of the State Board, ordering the Local Board to remove any single disciplinary finding in S.
