Reaction Discussion / White Paper to "Team Rodent: How Disney Devours the World" by Carl Hiaasen (Example)

Document Preview:

Institution Instructor Course Date The Team Rodent The book "team rodent" explores the deeds and misdeeds of the Disney world from a personal point of view exploring its effect on the Florida environs and in the economy. At the best Carl uniquely exposes the evils ongoing in the Disney world by tackling the economic cultural and political exploitation of the Americans by the fiction toon. In the book as short as 83 pages carl uses both comic and pun to deliver his protest against the effects of the culture created by the Disney world. First. The book is rather funny in its wording but also tough and fuzzy. The toughness and fuzziness of his book are captured by such lines as "Disney is so good at being good that it manifests an evil". At first the reader would expect the attack to be outright and that there would be take it as entertainment. Whatever reaction the reader arrives at he has read the book and gotten some new facts about his favorite toon producer. In conclusion Hiaasen's work as an investigative reporter also appears to have shaped his message. It is deep and revealing yet funny and fuzzy. It seems that he has been researching and privately exploring the selfish acts of the Disney world and is fed up with its evils to the point of publishing a book against the Disney. His message is terse and tough against a big corporation and this may not be an easy report to deliver to the public. He thus puts it in a comical book fuzzy-filled and with indirect insinuations of public theft and selfishness in the Disney world. However he also acknowledges that Mickey is not alone in the unscrupulous business that other men get rich in similar ways. [...]

Order Description:

Read the book (this is a short and easy read that most should find interesting) and write a 750-1000 word reaction (not a summary). This is an entertaining book and a very quick read. I want to read your personal reaction to this book (i.e., there is not a write or wrong answer---your goal is to communicate your reaction as accurately as possible). This is a great book to own and/or share. Team Rodent is available locally at Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com. You can also get it through the internet book sites. You should have read and completed your reaction paper/discussion prior to the due date of March 22nd. Late papers will be penalized 10 points.
