Long-term unemployment is an incredible concerning and persistent issue facing many countries. Due to complexities involved in the long-term unemployment I think the person who should be responsible in addressing this social issue is a social worker. A social worker is a person concerned with helping families communities groups and individuals to improve the collective and individual well-being. The aim of a social worker is to assist people to develop their knowledge and skills to use their own and social resources to resolve some problems they face (Social Work Guide 2018). I think the social worker should come up with interventions that will help to deal with the long-term unemployment problem.
