Leadership and Communication Name Instructor Institution Date Leadership and Communication Introduction Leadership refers to the process of influencing others (Hersey Blanchard & Johnson 2013). A good leader is one who is able to effectively influence others to work towards the accomplishment of the set goals (Hersey et al. 2013). In order to influence a leader also needs to be able to motivate his or her followers. Motivation is crucial since it tends to give team members unity of purpose. It ensures that each and every member of a team is working towards the attainment of the set goals (Hersey et al. 2013). Communication on the other hand refers to the process sharing information (De Vries Bakker-Pieper & Oostenveld 2010). The purpose of this paper will be to evaluate five leadership concepts and highlight the importance of effective communication in each of them. The five leadership concepts to be discussed my style of leadership by adopting the philosophy of servant leadership. To contribute positively to my organization I need to be a team player (Hersey et al. 2013).
