I will talk of three main types of birth control that are widely used in the modern world. The first one is hormonal methods which includes the use of pills and patches. According to a journal by Dunaway (63), the second category is barrier methods which includes the use of both male and female condoms, cervical cap, sterilization and spermicides. Lastly, we have natural methods which include withdrawal, abstinence, lactational amenorrhea method and fertility awareness method (Dunaway 63). These types of birth control are the most known by people. The pills have hormones that changes the cervix and uterus in a way that sperms are not able to enter. Hormonal birth control methods are widely as they have long term effect. Barrier methods are widely used as they have minimum side effects to the user.

Barrier methods as the definition of the word barrier involves use of physical barriers to prevent sperms from entering. The methods are widely used by people as they have minimum side effects such that people prefer them over hormonal methods. According to a Readers Write newspaper article (8A), they also have zero cost to the user making them the most effective for every person. An example is abstinence which is an avoidance behavior by people not to engage in sexual activities that may lead to pregnancy. Other methods under this type are withdrawal method, lactational amenorrhea method and fertility awareness method. Natural methods are being used every day by people as they have no side effects and also cost nothing. Conclusion Birth control has been used by people to prevent unplanned pregnancies.
