Scholarships Application Essay

I graduated from (name of high school) with honors. Throughout the course of my studies, I have received numerous awards especially in science subjects. My teachers have always commended me on my quest to understand how the knowledge learned in class can be applied to improve lives in the world. This means that I have always tried to find links between my academics and practical solutions that can help improve the world around me. One particular project that I am proud of was my ability to develop a small wind turbine for my home. I have always engaged in community service. From a young age, I tried to develop solutions on issues affecting my immediate community. I believe my mother played a critical role in helping me understand the importance of living in a community and helping those in need.
