According to the report, the largest human influence is the emission of greenhouse gases for example methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide. CO2 is a heat-trapping gas that is released through either human activities, for instance, the burning of fossil fuel and deforestation or through natural processes such as volcanic eruption and respiration. Shrinking ice sheets- between 1993 and 2016, Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (NASA) reports that Greenland’s ice cover has reduced by an average of 281 billion tons and Antarctica an average of 119 billion tons.
