Inactivity is highly related to weight gain. Some medications such as antidepressants, anticonvulsants, some hormones, and drugs result in weight gain. Their effect could result in severe problems. Some people have increased appetite due to psychological issues. This is also referred to central obesity as it affects the central part of the body. This form of obesity affects people of all ages, and many people are not aware of it during its early stages. Diabetes causes depression in carbohydrates metabolism hence increase in blood sugar. The blood sugar causes heart problems, joint deformities, and nerve problems (Effects of Obesity on Health and Metabolism, 2011). This makes obesity a severe condition that needs to be addressed fast. Colonic cancer has been linked to obesity in both men and women, while cancer of rectum and prostate is mainly found in men and the cancer of uterus and gallbladder in women (Wittert, 2011).

In women, breast cancer is prevalent since fat tissues produce estrogen and its excessiveness can lead to cancer. Despite the many health implications of obesity, some measures can be put in place to reduce chances of getting it or eradication. The best and simplest way is to do regular exercises to burn body fat. Strenuous practices ensure that the fats are consumed and all the body organs are decongested and function properly (Effects of Obesity on Health and Metabolism, 2011). From the stated effects of obesity, it is clear that more emphases need to be taken since the public is getting sick and are not aware. Since it is a disease that does not require medication unless in a severe case, everyone can live a healthy life if proper feeding and exercise routines followed strictly.
