If Elise decides to abort, then her father might strictly condemn her and even disown her, now that he is a staunch Catholic believer and issues of faith are very strong. On the other hand, if she keeps the pregnancy, then her scholarship is at stake. She might not even attend college and her life might just resemble that of her mother who got pregnant before she was married. Keeping the baby will be received well by Courtney, though she does not have enough ability to care for a baby and this means their living standards may be poor. Both Elise and Courtney are adolescents. Ethics must come to play then. Ethically, it is not right to commit murder on any human person, regardless of their stages in life (Kaczor, 2014).
