It assisted to discover evidence of saltwater below the surfaces of Europa, Ganymede and Callisto which were the moons found on Jupiter. Galileo was later sent to suicide plunge into Jupiter on September 21, 2003 after NASA detected it was going out of fuel (National air and space museum). This was to protect Europa moon which had a subsurface ocean which was suspected to sustain life. Galileo biggest mission was to enable the study of Jupiter from earth. This made it possible for learning astronomers to watch Jupiter’s weather changes and its possible impacts. At Ganymede, it found out the first magnetic field around the moon. Despite Galileo developing some mechanical problems and later running low on fuel that resulted in it being plunged in Jupiter, it provided useful information that need to be researched on.
