Background of the Problem: Going out and meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds is essential in the psychological and cognitive development of the individual. Two literature reviews avail an evidence-based practice on the importance of meeting new people especially for a student who are introverts or have difficulties in confronting others. According to Crisp meeting new people present an individual with a whole new world full of opportunities (Crisp & Turner 2009). As you get to interact with people who have different perceptions about the life you get an opportunity to discover new things like different ways of perceiving life. Psychologically meeting new people enables use to learn on how to deal with different people which can be challenging for most people. In addition meeting new people is good for one's cognitive development. Hewstone (2016) asserts that by interacting with new people you get exposed to new knowledge Step 4: Evaluate the progress and review the set goals by asking the student how many friends he or she was able to make after the treatment begun and compare with the number of friends the student had before the assessment. Step 5: Celebrate any success or progress made by the student. Step 6: Repeat Steps 2-6 times for a minimum of three months.
