His grandparents passed on after heart attacks. His grandfather was the first to die in the year 1931, while his grandmother died in 1941. His grandmother’s death devastated him the most to the extent he got so emotional and tried to commit suicide by jumping off a window. There were incidences in his early years that laid an impact on how he viewed the white people. Martin Luther King Junior went to school in African American schools in Georgia. In nineteen fifty five he was the leader of a demonstration that was not meant to be violent boycotting buses and lasted for three hundred and eighty two days. During the boycott, Martin got under arrest; attacks were made at his home and bombed.

This boycott saw to it that Negroes and whites rode on buses as equals (Smith 2016). Martin Luther King Jr opposed the policies by America towards Vietnam openly. He declared that war was not fair that could not be won by any means. His protests attracted the attention of the world He was arrested over twenty times and got assaulted close to four times during these arrests. He received five degrees in his honor. In nineteen sixty three Martin was accredited as the man of that year by a magazine called Time Magazine. He was a great leader to the Negroes and a worldwide figure. He was the youngest person to be honored by Nobel though their peace prize. During the struggles of Martin Luther King Jr, he earned several achievements.

He became a great leader to the Negro community. Martin was honored with five honorary degrees and was also awarded with the Nobel Prize award. In 1964 he was awarded the American liberties medallion. There are hundreds of streets and cities named after him in America and the world in general. In 1957, Martin was accused of being a communist through a post card. His religion and decency were put to the test through a letter addressed to him. He was also alleged to cheat on his wife by having extra marital affairs. by involving in sex scandals which was reported by the FBI (Harris 2014).
