There were positive impacts: this is when Franklin Roosevelt had a plan to get people back to work when he created the New Deal. On the other hand, capitalism was involved with effects and causes of Great Depression (Mitchell & Broadus, 2017). This is because the government was not fully involved in the market hence it was hard to prevent the Great Depression. To influence capitalism, programs of the New deal were designed. They were designed to put people back to work. There were arguments against and in support of the New deal. Critics were against the amount of money that was spent and said it was inefficient. Despite the controversy, there were those that supported Hopkins as the director like President Roosevelt (he also supported WPA).
