The process of transmission is taking place in form of steps; the first step is the signal reception followed by signal transduction and then cellular response at last. Signal reception step involves a receptor and the signaling bid encounter; this happens at plasma membrane outside the cell where a chemical signal is recognized at the moment when the molecule binds to the receptor. This trigger the second step of transduction where the signal that has been received is transformed into a form that the cell can understand easily; the pathway molecules are referred to as relay molecules for this case Response is the final step where the signal that has been transduced causes a certain response within the cell. This response can be any kind of imaginable cellular activity.
