Order Description:

Choose one of the articles linked below and read it thoroughly to understand the main ideas covered. Design a banner image that might appear at the top of the story on a web page, providing a general overview of the story. The image should reflect the key concepts of the story. Include a paragraph to explain the concepts you are trying to convey and how your image supports the text. Your image can be a sketch or digital illustration, or a collage of photographs, or a combination of photo and illustration. The image does not have to be 100% created by you. For instance, you can use an existing photograph in the image. However, you cannot use a single image you found somewhere else exactly as-is. It must be combined with other elements in some way. Cite the source of any outside images you used (a link is fine if it is online). I will NOT be grading you on design or artistic ability. For example, you can create a rough sketch as long as I can tell what it is. I WILL be grading on whether the image captures key concepts in the story. Your banner should combine at least two concepts from the story. For instance, if there was a story about how Americans have a higher rate of citizens in jail than any other country, the image should indicate something about imprisonment and the U.S. It should not just have an image of a person behind bars or just an American flag. Be sure your paragraph explains your rationale clearly. And check your spelling and grammar!
