Like any other business in the United States, the airline industry to faces challenges from the external environment (Lin, 2018). To have a better analysis of the external factors affecting the airline industry in the united states, we will look at the PESTEL framework to analyze the airline industry. PESTEL factors are generally the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal frameworks. Almost all industries are sensitive to changes in these factors. companies thus have to find ways that they adjust with the trends to ensure that at all times they keep up with the demands of the stakeholders. Suppliers in the airline industry vary from fuel oil suppliers, airline manufacturers among many others. Fluctuation of fuel oil together with other airline supplies is also another major factor that impacts airline profitability in the United States (Taneja, 2017).
