Unlike other forms of writing an academic writing article is introduced using a thesis statement. This explains the purpose of the research or the things that influenced it to be written. Most articles do not have thesis statement. This enables the reader to have a broader perspective of the things and readers seek information from. For instance, most instructors ask their students to use peer-reviewed articles in their research. This means that a reader required stating the accurate facts they are reading about. Another difference of academic reading is the kind of resources studying, to acquire knowledge. Reading is done depending on the results a student wants to achieve in their exams.
