Spiritual Needs Assessment and Reflection

The assessment was carried out on a 52 year old patient living with HIV/AIDS. He is a Christian who was raised in a Christin family. Ultimately, in the carrying out of the interview and assessment, there are a number of things that went well, others not so well. These are provided and discussed in the subsequent paragraphs. In the conducting of the interview, the session was overly smooth with no major difficulties. In the evaluation of the assessment tool designed for this interview, I am of the opinion that the OPEN invite approach would have been better. The manner in which the questions for this interview were structured was such that it often felt intrusive in some way. Particularly, the questions do not seek to establish the willing ness of the patient to participate in such an assessment.
