Tupac was born in the year 1971 and died in September 1996. He was born in Harlem where his parents gave him the name Lesane Parish Crooks, a name that would be changed after only one year to Tupac Amaru 11. This was a name that belonged to a revolutionary in Peru who during his time, was executed for leading an uprising against the Spanish rule. He had other stage names such as 2Pac and Makaveli. He was both an artist and an actor. This closeness with Pinkett is exemplified in Tupac’s documentary titled, ‘Resurrection’ in which he says that “Jada is my heart. She will be my friend for my whole life” (McKenna 79). On the other hand, Pinkett used to call Tupac one of his best friends.

Upon his death, Pinkett described Tupac by asserting that he was like a brother to her and more than a friend. As if that was not enough to show how he and Pinkett were close, Tupac had written a poem titled “Jada” Two years after moving to Baltimore, the family moved again to California where he joined a new high school by the name Tamalpais. as well as Money-B, all from the Digital Underground in the ‘I Get Around’ track. It was a hit track that was ranked 11th among the hot 100 tracks in the US. The year 1991 was a life-changing for Tupac. He released his first solo album titled ‘2pacalypse Now. ’ Albeit the album did not have any hit songs, it has been praised by many artists such as the Game, Nas, Eminem among others who have asserted that it inspired them.

It is during this period that he started acting. Tupac went ahead to release the greatest of his album, the third album titled ‘Me Against The World’ in 1995 (Poulin 23). This album was well received, and many people called it the greatest ever of his albums. Currently, it is considered one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time in the world. In the album, Shakur released ‘Dear Mama’ and ‘Old School’ singles among others. The year 1996 was his last. After leaving the MGM Grand where Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldom fight was held, Tupac and Knight were attacked on their way home (Holt 23). Tupac was shot four times, with two bullets finding his chest. The other two hit him on the thing and the arm.
