1 million adolescents in the United States, ages between 12-17 years, experienced major depressive episodes, which represents 12. 8% of the American population. Female adolescents showed a higher prevalence of depression than the males at a 19. 4% level while the males showed a lower prevalence level at 6. 8% (Huiting, 2017). A small distraction such as problems from the family and separation issues could cause a significant drop in performance in school. His parents hail from different religious affiliations; while his mother is a Christian, believing in the existence of God, his father is a Muslim who believed in an omniscient and omnipresent Allah. Michael Trevor had started to follow his father’s faith as they both attended Muslim classes at a local mosque every Friday and Wednesday.
