During the debate about immigration restrictions at the Congress, the number of eugenics articles rose even more. Additionally, the eugenics discussions were incorporated in many biology high school textbooks. By mid-1920s a good number of the British, American and European citizens had known the issue of eugenics (Hansen & King, 2013). Eugenics was seen as the best way to solve the recurrent social problems. The proponents of eugenics claimed that, this was a modern science where most social traits, especially mental characteristics were genetically identified, and that a lot of members of the society were genetically inferior. Also, they were concerned with immigrants with supposed genetic deficiencies during the time after World War I. In the nation of Germany there were great concerns regarding mental illness, psychiatric, psychotic, and psychopathic patients together with congenitally deaf, feebleminded, and blind (Tabor et al.

Germany eugenicists also had interests in expanding the society made up "fitter" elements, by then fitness was understood to mean class but not race. It was assumed that allowing a defective person to be born would be very costly, and would even become costlier after birth since taxpayers money would be spent in taking care of such people in institutions. In America, eugenics caused a split within the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). In Sweden various groups implemented eugenics. a. Who were these groups and how did they further eugenics? There are societies in Sweden that were founded and helped further eugenics. These groups include the Mendelian Society that was established in the year 1910 and the Swedish Society for Racial Hygiene which was formed in the year 1909.

Eugenics was endorsed by botanists, anthropologists, physicians, and zoologists in Sweden (Rudling, 2014). These laws institutionalize second-class status for the females in areas such as marital rights, employment, and inheritance. Also, People with disabilities and other minority groups like Blacks continue to face discrimination where in some nations they are regarded as aliens. Formation of organizations that fight for human rights and mass actions can be helpful to such groups. How today's events connect to eugenics and social justice? The hereditary social attitudes that were in favor of popular eugenics in the past are still engrained in the minds of the people currently. Also, emerging stories revolve around “newly discovered” genes and the so-called academic books covering the issue of intellectual “bell curves” and also the racist reexplanation of history avails a strong ground for the modern eugenics associations to be established.
