different organizations for the aged such as National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) remains committed to improving the lives of adults, their families, and caregivers thus contributing in changing the societal negative perception about aging (Nicolas, 2915). Dr. Yanira Cruz concluded that a justice society forms a fundamental to reframing aging and ageism in which the society must integrate the aging idea with a higher knowledge and experience level. This paper, therefore, provides a framework on how reframing aging and ageism impacts our society as well as the personal impact with the provision of relevant solutions and recommendations to the issue of concern thus enhancing self-empowerment in individual’s later life. Anne Karpf said in the recent New York editorial that the society views older people as a burden and resource drainers rather than resources themselves, a gerontophobia that is harmful to our society if utilized (Irving, 2015).

State regulations have been providing additional protection policies to protect older workers but this rarely changes individuals or societal minds and perspective toward aging. I feel that ageism and aging reframing is an issue that needs to be addressed in detail, as its impacts spread across all age groups in the world. As young people, we are greatly affected by the policies protecting older adults from discrimination in the workplace. Older people will stay longer at their working place as they are considered experienced and affecting in their working rate (Sweetland, Volmert, & O’Neil, 2017). This situation limits the employment chances for the young generation especially those are new form university as they lack experience. The government to work with members of the public and private sectors to protect the wellbeing of the aged in the society.
