A good technical writer will consult multiple sources to assure accuracy of information, to assure that the audience‚Äôs needs and requests are fulfilled, to clarify any copyright issues, etc. Discuss a few points of logic on how you chose the sources to consult. It could even be YouTube videos, to make sure you didn‚Äôt leave out vital steps in the directions, or something like that. The important thing to pass this task is to clearly discuss the logic you used to choose the sources that you used‚Ķ and you must use more than just the websites! We don‚Äôt often think about the sources we consult and trust, even for small things like buying groceries or clothes. But we always look to outside sources, even unconsciously! As a technical writer, you need to be able to selfreflect on the logic you used to compile sources for this Technical Manual. C3. Ethics: Both eTexts for this course discuss ethics in technical writing; you can always do a search within the eTexts for a keyword like Ethics. For this section you need to discuss a few points about HOW ethics played a role in what material you INCLUDED, and what you EXCLUDED. Take time to re-read the sections in the eTexts, and think about legal ethics, professional ethics, and personal ethics. The important thing to pass this task is to list several ethical considerations, and clearly explain HOW each played a role in what information you included and what you excluded in the guide.
