Either of these can be safe if appropriately performed with caution but can also be dangerous, lead aircraft damage and deaths if carried out incorrectly (Smith, 2017). Problem Statement An aircraft can be unable to land or taxi safely with the landing gear systems fully extended. The problem can be because the aircraft have mechanical issues or the landing gear system failure to retract after take-off. When such kind of problems occur, the pilot must carry out belly or gear up landing or a hard landing (Smith, 2017). Significance of the Problem Gear-up landing of an aircraft is hazardous especially if performed improperly and incorrectly. Disadvantage: It can lead to minor injuries and substantial damage to the aircraft. Alternative action 2: Perform gear up landing Gear-up landing is performed when there is a total malfunction of the gear.
