Globalization has both a beneficial and a disadvantageous impact on the education systems worldwide (Garritzmann, 2015). Some researchers indicate that it is impossible to modify globalization due to the significant involvement on an international level. The 21st century higher education is being driven towards increased international participation through societal, political and economic factors (Walter, 2017). The impact of globalization results in both positive and negative effects. For instance, the advancements made in technology facilitate transmission of knowledge based on Northern and Western models via e-learning protocols to Southside developing countries. Education literacy means that a significant amount of education programs, information and education materials is provided in electronic form. Furthermore, teachers are embracing globalization by preparing and delivering learning material in electronic form (Garritzmann, 2015).

Therefore, students are left with no choice other than to deliver the projects, assignments and essential papers in an electronic format. Libraries and customary blackboards are being replaced by online digital libraries and video-projection screens. In some instances, examinations are being taken electronically, and the grades are made available electronically through student portals. Disadvantages of Globalization Globalization has resulted in a notion that for an individual to successfully integration into the current world economy; they must have extensive traditional knowledge as well as new attributes that the modern knowledge-driven society requires. This notion brings into focus the fact that there exists an unequal sharing of information and communication technologies. The inequalities result in adverse effects because they only serve to magnify the pre-established disparities (Blanchard & Olney, 2017).
