“Losing Isaiah.” Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation “Losing Isaiah.” The movie begins with the introduction of Kaila Richards who is an addict of crack cocaine. She abandons her child in a dumpster in pursuit of her crack pipe to satisfy her physiological need and goes in a secluded area away from other addicts. She promises to return and take the baby but does not keep the promise ("Losing Isaiah Halle Berry 1995 Full Movie" 2017). The following day Isaiah a three-year-old black infant narrowly escapes death as a garbage-truck compactor does not crush him. He is taken immediately to the hospital. In the hospital a character named Margaret Lewin introduced; she is a social worker. Margaret takes cares of Isaiah in the hospital after noticing that he is also an addict of crack cocaine which he inherited from his mother Kaila. She decides to adopt him together with her husband racism becomes apparent. Margret’s strength is evident at the hospital; she decides to adopt Isaiah whom she also realizes that is an addict of crack cocaine while Kaila’s seems to be a go-getter. After coming out of the rehab she realizes that his son is alive and now want him back. However they both have shortcomings. Margaret knows at the back of her mind that the child is not hers but still dare to stand against the biological mother in the courtroom. Kaila on the other hand fails to thank Lewin for taking care of his son for three years instead she sue them in court.
