Name Tutor’s Name Institutional Affiliation THE TROLLEY PROBLEM The trolley problem is a moral dilemma created to make people consider the ethical implications of their decisions. The video involves three scenarios each with a rail yard worker who is supposed to switch a trolley to another track. In the first scenario one track has five people on it and the other track is free. In the second scenario one track has five people on it and the other track has one person on it. In the last scenario one track has five people on it and the other track not be a side effect but the means of saving the lives of five people. Therefore in the second and third scenarios the acceptable thing to do would be to do nothing. The decision would end up in five people being killed and one person living. The life of the person on the alternate track would not end up being taken away as a means of saving the five people on the first track.
