Synthesis of the Course Calendar
In terms of the course material, I expected that most of the teachings would come from religious books especially readings that incorporated matters to with students’ moral behaviour. Further, at the beginning of the course, I had also developed some assumptions that I later on realised they were misleading, at the beginning of this career. I hoped that after its completion, I could only secure a job in fields related to education. I expected that this course would only lend me an opportunity to work in fields related to education only. Further I had an assumption that the teaching content of what shall be taught would have less significant changes compared to what I had learned in high school. The course also incorporated teachings that would be of help one deal with parental issues.
For instance, helping ones children successfully identify their sexual and gender identity. A phenomenon that young people have ended up failing in life after failing to establish this identity. This was different from what I had expected, that is a course that would only deal with religion related matters. One of the topics that will remain memorable is the teaching I gathered on how to create a safe and supportive school environment for transgender students, I realised that there is a great connection between performance and realisation of one’s self. Being part of the religious in school case analysis offered me an opportunity of identifying with other religious group of people, same way I felt proud being associated with a certain group people made me realise that the same feeling would occur if students are allowed to learn together despite their different religious backgrounds.
