GENDER STEREOTYPING IN SPORTS

Reporting of female sports did not depend on their strengths and mostly they talked about individual flaws making it difficult to focus on female strengths. Over the years there have been many significant improvements despite the fact that male sports are still given more airplay. Though women’s sports hasn’t been given the full acknowledgement it deserves significant changes like improved production have come into play over the years. Women sports is no longer a constant subject of sexual objectification and commentaries now acknowledge women’s strengths and prowess in sports and in turn though still a work in progress, female athletes are being treated with respect. The problem of male chauvinism is still a pest in the sports department.
